Why Talkeetna.
Talkeetna is a small town where three rivers meet in the shadow of Denali. Jet boats run the Talkeetna and Susitna rivers to clear-water tributaries for king and silver salmon, and floatplanes reach lakes and streams for rainbow trout and grayling.
It is a relaxed base with cabins, lodges and a good main street, and it pairs naturally with a Denali visit or a Kenai week.
