Why Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland is the original, and the practical difference from Florida is scale: two parks facing each other across one plaza, with the three Disney hotels and dozens of good non-Disney hotels within walking distance. You can do it properly in three or four days instead of seven, which makes it the better pick for a long weekend, a first trip with small kids, or anyone flying from the West. Disneyland Park holds the classics and the best of the original design; California Adventure holds the thrill rides, Pixar Pier and the food and wine events. We plan the park days around the fireworks and parade schedule, get the reservations that matter, and pair it with a couple of days at the beach in Laguna or San Diego when you want the trip to feel like a vacation rather than a marathon.
