Overview
Why Seward.
Seward sits at the head of Resurrection Bay, ringed by mountains and tidewater glaciers. Silver salmon charters run August through September, halibut and rockfish trips run all summer, and the scenery on the way out is the best in south-central Alaska.
It is also the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park, so whale watching, glacier cruises and kayaking fit naturally around fishing days.
